June’s bank switch offers
New bank switching deals
Barclays is back, once again with a £200 offer. It’s pretty simple to get. You just need to switch over from a different bank with two or more direct debits, and deposit at last £2,000 within 30 days. You won’t qualify if you’ve had a switching bonus from Barclays before, or if you’re an existing current account customer. Ends 27 August 2026.
There’s also a new Premier Banking offer from Barclays, which the bank says is worth up to £600. Rather than cash, you’ll get a “signature experience” voucher. This can be used for dining, hotels, live events and family days out. However it looks like you’ll need to use your voucher in one go on just one ‘experience’, so there won’t be the option to mix and match. There’s also the risk that you’ll have to pay more if the experience you like costs more than £600. There’s also no change or credit if you select something that has a lower value.
The terms are the same as the standard current account, though you’ll need to pay in £4,000. And of course you’ll need to qualify for the account, which requires a salary of £75,000 a year or £100,000 saved or invest with Barclays.
Don’t forget that there’s also 5% cashback on fuel at Tesco petrol stations until the end of July with both options.
First Direct’s switching offer isn’t new, but it has increased to a total of £200 until 15 July 2026. This is made up of the usual £175 cash and an additional £25 top up. Don’t forget you can access a 7% regular saver with this bank. There’s also £40 available if you go via TopCashback or Quidco.
Bank of Scotland have introduced a £175 offer. It’s for new customers only, and you won’t be eligible if you have had switching cash from Lloyds, Halifax or Bank of Scotland since 1 January 2023, and you can’t switch from those banks either. Three active direct debits are required as part of the switch. You need to start it by 29 June 2026.
And Nationwide has also brought back it’s offer as part of the annual Fairer Share promotion. However this time it’s not restricted to existing customers. To get the £175 you need to pay in £1,000 and use the debit card at least once within 31 days, whether that’s for a new or existing account. You can’t switch from Nationwide or Virgin Money. Unlike other banks you can get the cash on both a personal and a joint account, but only on the first time for each one.
Continuing bank switching deals
Santander’s switch offer has returned to £180 cash, with the £30 extra voucher ending last week.
Elsewhere, Natwest still offers £200. The same offer is available from RBS. It’s a higher £250 for Premier customers.
HSBC is still offering £500 to new Premier customers. You’ll need to pay in around £5,100 a month to qualify, which is the rough equivalent of a £100,000 a year salary. First Direct and HSBC customers are excluded.
June’s current account offers
Zopa offers 4% bills cashback
New customers for Zopa’s Biscuit current account will get 4% cashback for a year, double the normal amount. However you need to apply by 15 June 2026.
The cashback is capped at £80 a year, meaning you’ll only earn the rate on the first £2,000 of direct debits paid. That’s an average of £6.66 back on £166.67 spend each month (assuming it was split evenly).
Trading 212 revamps cashback criteria
Trading 212’s cashback card has been one of our top spending picks for a while, largely because you could usually get it topped up to 1.5% from the base 0.5%. That rate is now going to be ongoing, but to get it you’ll need to more.
First, you need to use your debit card to pay for a weekly, fortnightly or monthly subscription. This needs to happen every month. Any regular payment counts, so you could well use some of our debit card payment hacks to trigger this where you’re just paying yourself.
You’ll also need to auto-invest your cashback, which was a requirement to get the boosted rate. If you don’t do both of these you will now earn nothing back on the card.
It started on 7 June 2026 for new card holders, or those who were on the base 0.5% cashback rate. For those already boosted to 1.5%, it’ll begin on 1 August 2026.
Chase confirms new cashback rules
At the start of June the new 2% cashback rate for Chase cardholders began so we’ve now seen all the small print.
When it comes to the 15 payment a month, this can be any debit card, credit card or direct debits. That means the latter could be made up from some of the extra direct debits we’ve written about previously that effectively just move your money to another of your accounts. However, 15 is a lot to create.
When it comes to the £1,000 savings requirement, this does need to stay above this balance all month, not on average or on a single day. The Roundup pot (paying 5%) and current account balances won’t count towards this.
There’s also a wider list of qualifying merchants for the new categories.
Revolut offers new customers 5% interest
I said a few months ago that I expected Revolut to start some new incentives, following it’s full approval by the FCA for a UK banking licence.
Well, the first one of these is here, and it’s 5% interest on up to £25,000 for new customers. Sounds good, right? Well the big catch is the rate only lasts until 4 December 2026.
So apply now and you’ll get it for almost six months, but wait a few months (the last chance is 4 August), and it’ll be for a shorter period.
Personally I’d look elsewhere for savings and wait to see what else Revolut offer at a later date.
Lloyds launches Rewards hub
There’s a revamped Rewards hub for Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland customers in each bank’s app. Alongside the familiar everyday cashback offers, there are now extra prize draws.
At (re)launch, there’s a chance to win £2,026 every month if you pay at least £1,000 of your salary, benefits or pension in. You’ll need to activate the offer.
There’s also a discounted Apple portal, though you might find bigger discounts if you shop around.

British Bank Awards results
This year’s British Bank Awards, run by our sister site Smart Money People took place a few weeks ago, and the big winner was Monzo, picking up Best British Bank and Best Current Account. Zopa won Best Banking app and Triodos was voted Best Ethical bank.
The shortlists and winners are decided by customer votes. You can see the full list of winners here.
If you qualified for the £100 annual bonus, then you should have it in your account now or very soon. Remember this counts as interest when it comes to tax.
Lloyds and NatWest groups announce more branch closures
Sadly, more bank branches will go this year and next across some big high street names. The latest announcements are for:
- NatWest, RBS & Ulster branch closures for 2026
- Halifax, Lloyds & Bank of Scotland branch closures

Monzo launches SIM cards
You can now get your mobile contract via Monzo. The idea is you’ll get a 5% discount on the bill every year, up to 30%.
That could work out as a decent offer, but I think shopping around will usually get you a better deal.
