About Amelia

I’ve been in the world of personal finance for the past 10 years (feel free to tell me I don’t look old enough) after cutting my teeth at the esteemed MoneySavingExpert.com.

From there, I worked as a senior research reporter on The Telegraph’s money desk and was chief reporter at Money Mail, the personal finance section of The Daily Mail. Challenging financial institutions, righting wrongs for readers and fighting for better outcomes was my bag, as well as exploring the more fun side of money – your stories.

During this time I won multiple awards including BIBA’s Gary Hyndman Most Promising Newcomer Award and Personal Finance Journalist of the Year at the British Bank Awards in 2021.

I eventually swapped newspapers for fintech and became head of content at Claro Wellbeing, a financial coaching and education provider, and made it on to the Women in Fintech Powerlist 2023.

When I’m not helping people take on companies or make the most of their money, I love roaming around outdoors, daily dips in the sea (spring to early autumn only!), bigging up girl power and reading in the bath.
