Andy’s deals of the week 8 January 2022

My pick of the best offers and savings.

Every week I spend hours looking at discounts and deals to pick the good from the bad. I’ll only share ones which I think are worth considering – but remember you’re only saving money if you’re buying something you need and can afford.

Don’t forget to check out my Clever Cash Deals Instagram account. This is where I’ll share any flash offers that will have come and gone by the time this roundup is published.

American Express: Boosted welcome offer

There are a couple of increased welcome offers for the British Airways American Express credit cards, with one – the BA Premium Plus Amex – open to existing Amex cardholders (you usually need to be without a card for 24 months to be eligible). Here’s more.

Chip: £20 welcome bonus

Savings app Chip is offering £20 to any new users who download the app and save £1 or more until early March. It offers a decent 0.7% interest rate on easy access savings.

Plus from the middle of this month free users will be able to access the AI autosaving feature – I’ll write more on this soon. More here.

Theatre: 50% off gift vouchers via O2

On Monday 10 January, anyone with the O2 Priority app (you don’t need to be with O2) can buy either a £40 or £80 Theatre Token voucher for half price. More here.

Vue: Four tickets for £2

Take out a free trial with the Telegraph for one month, then two more months for £1 a month and you can get a free Vue ticket each time – that’s four in total right now as you’ll still have a membership at the start of April. More here.

Mubi: Three months for £1

If you’d rather stay at home to watch movies, then cult, classic and world cinema streaming app is offering new and ex-customers three months for a quid. Here’s more.

Restaurants: January sale

It’s worth taking a look at what local restaurants are doing to get you in this month, with many offering 50% off or similar. I’ve had emails from Wahaca, Nicholsons and Brewdog and based on previous years I’d imagine there are many more. Here’s more.

Which?: Subscription deal stack

It’s possible to combine up to three different offers right now to bring a year of Which? magazine down to as little as £7.42. More here.

Waitrose: Up to 50% off sale

This January sale on everyday items such as chopped tomatoes and pizza is always worth a look. There’s either 50% or 33% off selected items. More here.
