Bus, tube and tram deals
£2 bus fare cap in 2023
Bus fares will be capped at £2 one way in England from January to the end of October 2023, extended from the original deadline of March 2023. It’ll then increase slightly to £2.50 for November. However, there is a chance that not all bus companies will take part, though you can see which ones are here.
National Express: 20% off (expired)
Until 18 June 2023 you can save 20% with the code SUMMER20. It’s valid for travel up until 30 September 2023.
You can book for up to 4 people. Some special packages are excluded, such as festival coaches.

Virgin Atlantic sale (expired)
Also until 30 May there’s a Virgin Atlantic sale. You can also combine flight and hotel bookings for bigger discounts.

Petrol and motoring deals
Halfords: Free 10-point car check and £5 voucher
If you join the Halfords Motoring Club for free, you can get a free £5 voucher to spend online or in-store at Halfords and a free 10-point car check, worth £15.
There’s a Premium tier for £49 per year that gets you your MOT (worth £44.99), 2 10-point car checks, a free fitting of wiper blades or headlights and 5% off at the autocentres and in-store.
This is generally a pretty good deal, but definitely worthwhile if you’re having enough work on your car to make the most of the 5% off, don’t know how to change your headlights or windscreen wipers and would usually do your MOT at Halfords.
5p off a litre of petrol at Morrisons (expired)
From 11 to 21 May 2023 you can get 5p off each litre of petrol at Morrisons petrol stations if you spend £35 in the supermarket. You’ll get one voucher per qualifying spend, so you can get more than one if you make multiple shops. You show the voucher when you pay. You can see locations and terms and condtions here.
Halfords: Free MOT (expired)
Most years Halfords offers a free MOT offer. You usually have to buy something in-store to qualify. This year it runs from 25th March 2021 to 19th April 2021.

Santander Cycles are the bikes you can pick up and ride throughout London, and TFL are offering 50% off a monthly membership with code CARFREEDAY until 24 September 2023.
