Andy’s deals of the week 18 February 2023

My pick of the best offers and savings.

Every week I spend hours looking at discounts and deals to pick the good from the bad. I’ll only share ones which I think are worth considering – but remember you’re only saving money if you’re buying something you need and can afford.

Don’t forget to check out my Clever Cash Deals Instagram account. This is where I’ll share any flash offers that will have come and gone by the time this roundup is published.

This week’s deals

Natwest & RBS: £200 switch offer

Two new switching deals launched this week – though you’ll only be able to get one. The £200 from either Natwest or RBS is easy to get. Find out if you qualify and what you need to do.

TopCashBack: £2 off pancake ingredients

Buy at least £2 worth of flour, eggs, milk and lemons before Tuesday and you’ll be able to claim £2 back from TopCashback when you upload your receipt. Terms here. Not joined TopCashback? Get one of these new member offers.

Petrol: 5p off a litre at Morrisons

Spend £35 at Morrisons to claim a voucher to save on petrol. Ends this weekend. Here’s more..

Lotto: Free family days out

If you buy a Lotto ticket or scratchcard you can use it for free or discounted entry to attractions such as Eden Project and National Trust properties from 18 to 26 March. Advance booking is recommended for some places, and that’s open now. More here.

Tesco: 25% off wine

The popular wine deal is back at Tesco (no doubt others will follow soon) and you can stack it with other discounts. You do need a Clubcard. More here.

Discount Dragon: Clearance food & drink

This online store (previously known as Yankee Bundles) has some decent discounts on close-to-expiration groceries, though they’re all fine to consume. I spotted some Brewdog beer and Toblerone choc at low prices. More here

Chip: £25 welcome bonus

If you’re new to savings app Chip you can sign up for a £25 bonus until Monday. You’ll also get access to an instant access account paying 3.05%. More here.

Cynergy: New 3.11% paying easy access account

Cynergy Bank has released a table-topping easy-access account paying 3.11%. Potentially it could mean close rivals respond and increase rates too. Here are all the best paying accounts.

Premium Bonds: prize rate increases to 3.3%

There’s been yet another increase (the third in a row) for Premium Bonds. Find out how it compares to other savings rates and whether they’re worth a go again.

Natwest: Digital Regular Saver increases to 6.17%

Alongside the £200 switch bonus, Natwest (and RBS) announced this week an increase of the Digital Regular Saver rate to 6.17%. Here’s how it works.

American Express: 70,000 Avios welcome ends next week

If you’re eligible for the boosted welcome bonus on the BA American Express Premium Plus credit card (and comfortably afford to spend £3,000 in three months), then you don’t have long to apply for this card via the BA Executive Club. Details here.
