Andy’s deals of the week 13 August 2022

My pick of the best offers and savings.

Every week I spend hours looking at discounts and deals to pick the good from the bad. I’ll only share ones which I think are worth considering – but remember you’re only saving money if you’re buying something you need and can afford.

Don’t forget to check out my Clever Cash Deals Instagram account. This is where I’ll share any flash offers that will have come and gone by the time this roundup is published.

Asda Rewards: Earn money back on shopping

A new loyalty scheme from Asda has launched nationwide and you can get 10% back on some purchases. Here are all the details.

Santander: 4% cashback on bills in September & October

If you pay for your energy bill by Direct Debit via the Santander 123 Lite account you’ll normally get 2%. Well that will double for two months. Factor in the new £160 switch bonus and this is the best time to open the account if you don’t already have it. Here’s my review.

Netflix, NOW & Freeview: £9p/v via BT

BT Broadband customers can add on BT TV for two years at £9 a month. For this amount, you’ll get a Freeview recording box worth £250 and subscriptions to Netflix (£5.99 p/m) and NOW Entertainment (£9.99 p/m).

It’s a decent price just for the box if you’re looking to ditch Sky or Virgin TV. But you do need to factor in whether you can get the broadband for less elsewhere. Here’s more.

Spirit & mixer: Four cans for £2 stack

Combine a multibuy offer from Tesco and cashback from Shopmium to get four tins of gin, vodka, rum and Pimms at 50p each. Here’s more.

Savings: 1.9% easy-access & 2.97% 1 year fix

Rates are moving up again. First Zopa increased rates to 1.81%, (with ways to boost this further in short-term notice accounts), then Al Rayan hiked their rate to 1.9% One year fixes also increased, with just under 3% available. More here.

Mubi: £1 for three months

Indie and world movie streaming site is offering three months for £1. Here’s more.

Co-op: £3 off £10

If you’re new to Co-op’s membership scheme (cost £1) you’ll be able to get £3 off a £10 spend, along with weekly coupons. More here.
