Andy’s deals of the week 10 December 2022

My pick of the best offers and savings.

Every week I spend hours looking at discounts and deals to pick the good from the bad. I’ll only share ones which I think are worth considering – but remember you’re only saving money if you’re buying something you need and can afford.

Don’t forget to check out my Clever Cash Deals Instagram account. This is where I’ll share any flash offers that will have come and gone by the time this roundup is published.

Quidco: £5 off £15 bonus

I’d you’ve not joined Quidco yet you can also get a £17 welcome bonus here.

Chip: 2.9% easy-access

Chip increased the rate on its easy-access account, with a top-of-the-table 2.9% (though it can be beaten by limited access accounts).

However it’s not like other accounts as the money you make will be a reward rather than interest and it doesn’t compound (earn interest on the interest). The bonus also isn’t protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. Here’s my full explanation.

Discovery+: Free with BT Sport

If you pay for BT Sport via BT, EE or Plusnet you can now get Discovery+, which includes Eurosport, HGTV and more for free. More here.

Amazon Fresh: £5 voucher

This code will get you £5 to spend in one of Amazon’s bricks and mortar supermarkets. More here.

John Lewis: Members’ Week coupons

There are two vouchers for MyJohnLewis members this week. £5 off £70 and £15 off £150. More here.

Baileys: £10 for 1 litre

Both Tesco and Sainsbury’s are selling a full litre of Baileys for a tenner until the end of the weekend.

Tesco: New Clubcard coupons

It’s worth checking your Tesco app to see if you’re one of around 1 in 5 customers who are now getting extra personalised coupons to save on their shopping. More here.

Shop Small: £5 off £15 spend with American Express

Amex Shop Small ends on Monday. This is the offer that earns you up to £25 per card. So far I’ve spent money at a bookshop, a deli and two restaurants, and I’ll be snapping up some gift cards in the next few days. More here.

Halifax: £360 Reward hack

This trick will help you double your return from the Halifax Reward account, then triple it again with additional accounts. More here.

  1. A couple of new Amazon ones (for me) this week

Get £5 when you add a payment card (ad on the home page – not the scrolling banner at the top).

Get £5 for streaming a song on Amazon Free Music. On the scrolling banner at the top of the home page, ends 29/01/23. But disappeared after I activated the £5 for adding a payment card promotion. Maybe it will reappear once I’ve used that?
