Andy’s deals of the week 25 March 2023

My pick of the best offers and savings.

Every week I spend hours looking at discounts and deals to pick the good from the bad. I’ll only share ones which I think are worth considering – but remember you’re only saving money if you’re buying something you need and can afford.

Don’t forget to check out my Clever Cash Deals Instagram account. This is where I’ll share any flash offers that will have come and gone by the time this roundup is published.

Go to festivals for free

If you’re not sure you can afford to go to a festival this summer, then volunteering might be the answer. You can get free tickets in exchange for a few shifts at the likes of Reading, All Points East, British Summer Time and Rewind. Here’s how to apply.

Regular saver, fixed rate and ISA changes

The best regular saver that doesn’t require a current account is now Halifax with a rate of 5.5%.

Elsewhere there has also been a lot of movement in fixed accounts with Sharia provider Al Rayan offering 4.5% on a one year, and Cynergy not far behind on 4.45%.

Monzo has increased easy access to 3.2% and Chase will move to 3.1% next month, but neither are still not as good as Chip’s 3.4%

Sadly the best ISA rates from Virgin Money and Barclays have been pulled, but others have boosted rates including Cynergy and Santander.

Here’s more on these and all the best paying accounts.
