Every week I spend hours looking at discounts and deals to pick the good from the bad. I’ll only share ones which I think are worth considering – but remember you’re only saving money if you’re buying something you need and can afford.

eBay: 1,000 Nectar points (£5)

Until 10 May some eBay users will be able to get a bonus 1,000 Nectar points, worth £5, when spending £10. You need to activate the offer, so check the eBay homepage or your account to see if you’re eligible.

Halifax: £125 switch ends

It’s your last chance to get the Halifax switching deal for new and existing customers as the promotion ends on Monday. Here’s more.

Savings: New 1.3% “ethical” easy access

Though the best rate is still 1.5% via Chase, alternatives are catching up (perhaps anticipating a base rate increase today), you can now get 1.3% from Sharia-compliant bank Gatehouse, which is partially ethical as it avoids investing in things like arms, gambling and alcohol. Here’s more.

Disney+: 15% off or three months free

A couple of decent savings for Disney+. If you’re with O2 you might be able to claim three months free (it worked for me), and if not you can use Curve to save you 15%, making an annual pass £67. More here.

Pizza Express: 50% off via app

Until the end of the month, it’s possible to save 50% on pizzas – though everyone eating will need their own app to save on their pizza. Here’s more.

Beer: Free pint

The We Love Sport app is giving away a pint each at participating pubs in May. More here.

Sky Sports: £20 a month via NOW

With the football season entering its final weeks there will be some crunch matches on Sky – and you can watch them for a month on NOW TV for a cut-price £20. More here.
