The O2 Priority Moments app will give you access to all sorts of deals – from £1 meal deals every Monday to free chocolate and Christmas cards. And this trick means anyone can get it, even if you’re not on O2.
As the video explains all you need to do is order a free O2 SIM – which you can do via the link below. Though the form asks you to choose a bundle you don’t actually need to pay anything now. Submitting the form should get the SIM sent out to you which you can activate as below without ever topping up. Let me know if it’s any different.

Once you’ve got your SIM, put it in your phone (it needs to be unlocked), and use wifi to download the O2 Priority app. You’ll need to activate the app using your new O2 phone number. You shouldn’t need to top up the SIM itself. Then switch your old SIM back in and the app should keep working.
If you don’t know how to unlock your phone then this “unlockapedia” from Giffgaff is handy.
What can you get with O2 Priority Moments?
I’ve had the app for years, ever since it was launched in 2011, and I’ve lost count of the freebies and deals I’ve picked up.
An ongoing deal is the £1 meal deal every Monday at Domino’s, WH Smiths, Upper Crust, Pumpkin and Cafe Ritazza. You can also get a free coffee at Cafe Nero most weeks. Every year for the last four years I’ve also picked up a free box of Christmas cards from WH Smiths.
Other deals come and go but frequent offers include discounts at Pizza Express, free snacks from Boots, free chocolate from Thorntons or Hotel Chocolat, free trials for Tastecard or Gourmet Society and a discount at Body Shop.
Sorry – I know this is an old post.
O2 have fixed this loophole in that you now have to have credit on the card before the activation is accepted.
Can anyone tell me whether once you’ve activated it, you need to keep the O2 account topped up in order to keep using the app, or can you simply load on £10 to start with and then it’s good forever?
That’s good to know about the credit Tony. I’ll try and find out the answer…
Unfortunately 02 have wizened up. Do you have to keep topping up to get priority now please?
Bee using the trick for Priority Moments but now been asked to top up the sim card to continue using Priority
I activated the Priority app a few weeks ago, but then it asked me to enter a new code, and when I entered the O2 phone number, I got an SMS saying I have to top up in order “to keep enjoying Priority”, so it looks like they saw me coming and closed the loophole!
Is this still the case for you? I’m just wondering whether or not to bother ordering the sim. I don’t see any point if I have to top up the sim to activate it.
Does this still work? I’m planning on doing this for a presale event that is happening on wednesday! Also whenever I need to use the o2 Priority app will I need to switch back to the O2 sim as I also am on three network or will it still stay signed in on the app. Also are these the same o2 sims that I can get at my local store for a £1?
Did this kat week and got my free box of cards a can of elderflower pressed and a l”occitane gift box, Thanks
It’s not free, you need to select a bundle which starts at £10
Yeah looking around it seems they’ve stopped it! Minimum top up seems to be £10. Will hunt around for alternatives
Actually just checked further and you can order the SIM without topping up. I’ve updated the content above to explain more
Ok I’ve just received my sim, the video says to activate it using wifi, my sim isn’t activating so when I go on the app it says number not found or whatever, I read in their website that you have to top up to activate it.
Right, connect to wifi, then try downloading the app with the sim in your phone and enter that new phone number to get the code to activate the app. You hopefully don’t need to actually activate the SIM with a top up. Let me know if it works.
No you don’t, I got a pay as you go sim (not topped up) put it in my phone, downloaded the app, took the sim out and put my own in and the app is still working
Have you tried buying a concert ticket using o2 priority? I’m doing the exact thing right now and was wondering if it will require the sim again when trying to buy it
How did you register for O2 priority without an activated SIM? The message with the code used to sign in hasn’t been delivered to me.
I’m not receiving the code to actually register for O2 priority. Any ideas?
