You can only enter once per card, so if you’ve got one of each, you can get two entries, but you need to spend £500 on each of them.

It doesn’t explicitly say that the debit card spending hacks on things like paying off your credit card or sending money to a savings account won’t work, so you might want to give that a go if you don’t fancy changing your everyday spending card.

Barclays: 1% cashback on spending (ended)

If you have Barclays Blue Rewards on your account (this costs £5 a month) or have a Barclays Premier account you can get 1% back on spending from 4 September to 30 November 2024.

There’s a maximum of £5 in cashback each month, meaning it’s only paid on the first £500 you spend. The money will be paid into your Barclays Cashback Rewards account (which is set up in the app for you when you register for the offer) when you hit £5, or on the 5th of the following month if it’s less. You’ll need to manually move that money to your current account or savings account to use it.

Excluded transactions are:

  • ATM cash withdrawals
  • All bill payments including direct debits, standing orders and store bill payments
  • Currency or traveller’s cheques
  • Cash transactions such as money orders or wire transfers
  • Gambling transactions (including a payment to a merchant we identify as being in the business of gambling, even if not for a bet)
  • Barclays interest, fees or charges
  • Transactions made outside of the UK (including transactions made in the UK which are processed outside of the UK).

Considering you can get 1% on up to £1,500 spend via Chase, or more via the Amex Nectar credit card, this is really only for those who are dedicated to sticking with Barclays and Blue Rewards.

Co-op Bank Everyday Extra: fee free for three months (ended)

If you open a new packaged account from Co-op Bank, you’ll avoid the £15 monthly fee for the first three months. That means you won’t pay for travel insurance, mobile phone cover and breakdown cover.

You’ll have to pay the fee, but it’ll be refunded each month, up to a maximum of £45. You don’t have to keep the account after this date, but if you do, bear in mind that you will be charged.

Ends 4 November 2024.

You can combine this with the up to £150 bank switch offer too.

Tide: £200 when you open a business and savings account (ended)

There are two parts to this offer. You can get £100 when you sign up for a free Tide account and fund it with £100, which must stay there until 23:59 on 8 October 2024.

Then if you add £1,000 to a new Tide Instant Saver account in the app, and leave it there until the same date in October, there’s another £100 available.

To qualify for the offer you’ll also need to enter the code GET200 when you apply or within a week or opening the account.

You must be a new customer and you’ll have to be a sole trader or partner or have a limited company to be able to open a Tide business bank account. Full terms and conditions.

You’ve got to sign up by 8 September 2024. It can take six to eight weeks for the rewards to arrive in your account.

HyperJar: Up to 2% cashback (ended)

New users of the HyperJar app can earn up to £200 a month if they sign up before 21 June 2024.

You’ll get 1% back on spend with the physical debit card, and 2% on payments via Apple Pay or Google Pay, capped at £200 each month.

So if you spend £500 a month with your card you’ll get £5, and another £10 if you spend a further £500 via your phone’s wallet.

Most of your spending will count, but there are some exclusions, including paying off credit cards, Council Tax, utilities, gambling and tax bills. Also excluded are buying gift cards via HyperJar.

The cashback will last until 31 October 2024 so you’ve potentially got six months to earn the cashback. You’ll get your money 30 days after each month ends. So spend in May and you’ll get the money on 30 June and so on.

The HyperJar account is free so it won’t cost you anything to spend via the debit card.

You cannot be a current or previous customer of HyperJar to get the offer. Full terms and conditions here.
