Supermarket wine offers: 25% off wine (December 2024)

Here are the latest 25% off 6 bottle promotions running at Asda, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and more

One of the most popular supermarket wine deals is where you’ll get 25% off six bottles of wine.

These offers run at all supermarkets, with others usually following suit whenever a supermarket launches theirs. You can often stack the 25% off promotion with other offers, too. For example, if a bottle is normally £8 but reduced to £6 with a loyalty card, you can still get another 25% off to make it £4.50.

The deals tend to run at similar times each year, especially around bank holidays. Here are all of the supermarket wine offers running at the moment.

These offers might not be available in Scotland, while Wales has minimum prices per unit of alcohol, so the offer may be slightly different.

How to save even more on supermarket wine

You can stack supermarket wine offers with cashback sites to save even more money, letting you stock up on wine for a great discount. Here are a couple of ways:

Pay with a discounted supermarket gift card

With apps like JamDoughnut, Cheddar and HyperJar, you can buy a gift card for your chosen supermarket and use it at the checkout when buying your wine.

For example, if I bought 6 bottles of 19 Crimes The Uprising Red Wine, which currently has a Clubcard price of £9 (from £10.50), I’d get 25% off the total amount, taking it to £40.50 and saving me £13.50 (£18.50 on the non-Clubcard price).

I’d then go one step further and buy a gift card with JamDoughnut for £45, I could then earn 2.5% cashback on it, getting me £1.12. Gift vouchers are often boosted in the JamDoughnut app too, so, at the time of writing, I could actually earn 3.75% cashback.

This gets you 6 bottles for £39.38, coming in at around £6.50 per bottle.

If you don’t already have a JamDoughnut account, you can sign up with our link to get a £4 welcome bonus – double the bonus you’d usually get. You can also read our review.

Earn up to £20 bonus via a cashback site

You could also use traditional cashback sites, like Quidco and TopCashback to click through to your chosen supermarket and check out as usual.

Plus, if you’re new to either of these sites, you can get a welcome bonus for signing up when you make your first transaction. This is £20 for TopCashback and £20 for Quidco if you sign up for our newsletter.

You can also buy gift cards with TopCashback using TopGiftCards and they’re eligible transactions to earn the welcome bonus.

25% off 6 bottles of wine promotions

Various supermarkets and retailers run the same 25% off six bottles of wine promotion – these are the current ones available and our predictions for when we think they’ll be back. Most of the time these are in England and Northern Ireland only with minimum unit prices in Wales. The offers don’t usually run in Scotland.

Remember, you might be able to double your savings by buying an already discounted bottle as part of the offer.

Other supermarket multibuy offers

When you can’t get the 25% off six bottles promotion, a lot of supermarkets offer similar promotions that can save you money when you buy several bottles of wine. Once again, these are typically in England and Northern Ireland only with minimum unit prices in Wales. The offers don’t usually run in Scotland.

Co-op: £5 off 3 bottles

Until 3 January 2025

Co-op is offering £5 off when you buy three bottles of wine for those with the Co-op membership. The offer only applies to selected bottles of wine, which range from £7 to £7.85, so you can save up to 23% on full price.

The offer ends on 3 January 2025.

Morrisons wine: 2 bottles for £11

Until 1 January 2025

Morrisons has a number of bottles in a two for £11 offer. The bottles in the offer range from £5.75 to £7.50, so you can save between 50p and £4 with the offer.

Scotland is excluded from this offer.

In addition, make sure you check out how you can get up to £20 more off your wine by using a cashback site.

Sainsbury’s wine: 25% off 3 bottles (ended)

Until 17 September 2024

Buy three or more bottles of Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference wine to get 25% off the total. Scotland is excluded. This doesn’t include any bottles of wine under £6 in England or £7 in Wales and you can get a maximum of 36 bottles. It stacks with other discounts on bottles too.

There are bottles of wine between £6 and £23.50 in the offer so you could save between £4.50 and £17.60 on three bottles.

In addition, make sure you check out how you can get up to £20 more off your wine by using a cashback site.

Tesco: 25% off 3 bottles (ended)

9 April to 22 April 2024

If you buy three or more bottles of wine at Tesco then you can get 25% off the total. This is part of the Clubcard Prices offer, so you need to swipe your Clubcard at the checkout to get the discount. Better yet, the discount will apply to the Clubcard price of each bottle of wine.

You can stack this with other wine offers – though watch out that the bottle price before the 25% discount isn’t below any minimum pricing.

If you’re shopping online make sure your Clubcard is connected to your account.

In addition, make sure you check out how you can get up to £20 more off your wine by using a cashback site.

Asda wine: 25% off 3 bottles (ended)

Buy three or more bottles of Asda’s Extra Special wines and you get 25% off the total. There are 70 wines in the deal, with prices ranging from £4 to £9, so you can save up to £6.75 on three bottles.

We don’t yet know when this will end, but we’re expecting a 6 bottles for 25% off deal to come before the end of the month.

In addition, make sure you check out how you can get up to £20 more off your wine by using a cashback site.

Amazon: bulk wine offers

Amazon regularly runs bulk wine offers, where you can get a case for quite a hefty discount (and sometimes a pretty measly one).

It’s worth looking to see if you can save, but make sure you compare prices with the supermarkets, especially if they’re also running offers on bottles and you’re looking for a specific brand.

Look out for voucher codes to apply for extra savings- there’s a filter for “discounts” where you can see some of the discounts available.

You can save more with subscribe and save on certain bottles – though be careful not to forget to cancel the subscription if you don’t want them to keep coming.

Majestic: Mix Six discounts

Latest: Ongoing

Supermarket offers come and go, but you can always get discounts at Majestic via the “mix-six” deal. As the name suggests you buy six different bottles and you’ll pay a lower price per bottle.

  1. Patrick James Bowman December 13, 2024 at 11:58 am

I recently purchased 6 bottles of Cote Du Rhone @ £5.45 per Bottle
Should I have been entitled to the 25% discount?

    1. Probably not, the wine in the 25% off deal is usually £6.00 per bottle and above.

  2. This week I combined Monzo’s 8% cashback on Sainsburys online with the 25% off wine promo!

  3. Why do Morrisons say “Buy any 6 bottles or more and save 25%” but when purchasing 7 bottles, the 7th (depending on the order you scanned them) is at full price. Asda’s policy is buy 6 or more and it means what it says and all bottles are discounted by 25% over 6, but like other supermarkets there is a minimal price per bottle, usually around £5. Lastly, like a lot of supermarkets, they jack the price up around 7 to 14 days before so the 25% off is clearly not what it appears to be.
Pity they do not follow the late Harry Selfridges motto, “The customer is always right”……………………..and when a member of his staff asked him why they should remember his saying was “Without customers, we have not got a business” !

  4. It looks like Tesco’s wine offer now expires on 17th December 2023, and not 3rd December as published. Perhaps they changed when they saw Sainsbury’s long offer period.

  5. Morrison’s 25% off for six bottles is not as good as it seem. One of the wines Piccini Memoro was £7 before the offer started but is now up to £8.50 on the offer. The same has been done to all the wines in the offer. Marked up in price so the discount is not as good as it seems.

  6. Since the August offer the base price at Sainsburys has increased from £5 to £6.

In the stores I checked the effective price of many wines were increased by 15% on the day of promotion. Based on my basket Sainsburys are at least 10% more expensive with the 25 off than the same wines were in July bought singly without any promotions!

  7. Just purchased x18 bottles of Turner Road Merlot from Tesco Brockworth in Gloucester. I noticed I had only received £1 off per bottle (Clubcard discount) when I approached Customer Services I was informed that the 25% discount did not apply to any wine below £5.50 per bottle. The wine is normally £6 per bottle ….but after the Clubcard discount this made each bottle £5 per bottle so not available for the 25% discount! They then gave me a refund for the 18 bottles I had purchased, but wouldn’t give me the extra 25% discount. This ruling of no 25% discount for any wine below £5.50 is not displayed anywhere that I could see!

    1. It is written on all the big promo signs about the minimum alcohol unit price situation. Nit very large, but it is there.
      Different pricing in Wales too.
If I combine 25% off and 10% Big Shop discount, I have to make sure each bottle is at least £8.50. I like to go for £10+ bottles that have a CC price of £8.50/ £9. Love the savings on these wines I would never normally afford.

      1. Think you will find that the £5.50 price applies to the original price and therefore you still get the 25% off six bottles. That is certainly how it works (or did for me…) at the large Tesco in Cirencester. Hence a purchase of 6 bottles priced at £6, totals £27 instead of £36. Must admit though, I usually treat myself to a few more expensive wines too…

  8. Mr George Peter Parker July 31, 2023 at 3:43 pm

tesco offer only applies in super stores & not tesco express where 10%is added to the price anyway. This morning The superstore had sold out C de R @ £5 but I was told plenty in stock at 4 local Expresses @£5.50 but no 25% discount.

  9. The Waitrose offer is not great. At normal times there are often a good number of wines with more than 25% off. I have bought plenty of wine – admittedly from Waitrose Cellat but I think the prices are the same as at the supermarket – and limited my selection to those that are 33% off (and sometimes more than that). That has been replaced for the duration of this current offer to 25% off everything for buying more than six bottles. So, unless you particularly want something that is not otherwise discounted, you might actually end up paying more!

  10. I think you mean the £6 bottle will be £4.50 with 25% off.
