Andy’s deals of the week 4 September 2021

My pick of the best offers and savings.

Every week I spend hours looking at discounts and deals to pick the good from the bad. I’ll only share ones which I think are worth considering – but remember you’re only saving money if you’re buying something you need and can afford.

Don’t forget to check out my Clever Cash Deals Instagram account. This is where I’ll share any flash offers that will have come and gone by the time this roundup is published.

NOW: 50% off cinema passes

This is a new customer deal, charging just £4.99 a month for six months. There have finally been some bigger releases recently (Wonder Woman 1984 for example) so it’s a decent price to give it a try. Plus you can cancel anytime if you find you’re not using it enough. More here.

£5 off M&S Food

Head to your local M&S and look for a sign this weekend offering £5 off food. There will be a QR code you need to scan and this will add the offer to your Sparks account. You’ll need to activate it to use.

The offer needs to be added by 6 September but you’ll have a week to use it. If you don’t have Sparks, here’s more about the loyalty scheme.

Cinema: Shang-Chi savings

The latest Marvel film – Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings – opens Friday, and if you’re planning on going there are so many ways you can avoid paying full price. This includes two Odeon tickets for a fiver, or two Vue for £7. Check them out here.

Freetrade: Free share worth up to £200

This trading app gives new users a free share worth between £3 and £200.

It’s completely random what you get – I received one worth around £13.

You can just sign up and deposit £1 to get the free stock, then withdraw all the cash. If you do want to use Freetrade for further investing then I’d recommend you do more research.

Bother: £15 off first household supplies order

Buy store cupboard essentials and other items from this online supermarket with a decent discount on your first order. More here.

Cocktail: Free “hard seltzer” via cashback apps

There are offers on the Green Jinn receipt app right now for free cans of alcoholic hard seltzer drinks at WH Smiths, Majestic, Morrisons and Planet Organic. Details here.

Amex: £200 restaurant credit for some

This offer is only for people with the full Platinum Amex (not the cashback Platinum cards), and since that has a huge £575 annual fee I imagine it won’t be many of you.

But if you do have this card, then you can get 100% back selected restaurants (mainly London) up to £200. More here.
