Andy’s deals of the week 10 July 2021

My pick of the best offers and savings.

Every week I spend hours looking at discounts and deals to pick the good from the bad. I’ll only share ones which I think are worth considering – but remember you’re only saving money if you’re buying something you need and can afford.

Don’t forget to check out my Clever Cash Deals Instagram account. This is where I’ll share any flash offers that will have come and gone by the time this roundup is published.

1. Halifax: £100 switch bonus

I’ve just seen that Halifax has brought back a £100 switching bonus – though this time it’s different from previous offers.

To get it you need to open up a new Halifax Ultimate Reward current account, which costs £17 a month (and comes with a load of insurances).

That might put some of you off, but I was able to downgrade my account to a standard free account as soon as I got my bonus in a similar offer – and didn’t even get charged the first £17!

If you currently have a Halifax Reward account you can probably nab this deal, and there’s also a trick for existing Ultimate Reward account customers to also get it. Check here for details

2. Gousto & Hello Fresh: More than 90% off your first boxes

If you’ve not used either Gousto or Hello Fresh recipe boxes then a combination of deals makes this a great time to try.

Stacking a first-box promo code worth 50% to 60% off with cashback between £12 and £16 means it’ll cost you £6.60 to get 22 meals! That’s 30p per portion.

And there are ways to stack extra savings on top! Here’s how.

3. Asda: Up to £15 bonus to spend

Regular Asda shoppers should check out the “School Shop” savings card – even if you don’t have any kids.

Much like the Christmas Savings card you can get a bonus of between £1 and £15 added to your card to spend in store on anything you like. The size of the bonus depends on how much is on the card. Here’s more, including the deadline you have to make.

4. Spotify / Tidal: Three months free

It’s your last chance to pick up three months free Spotify Premium (if you’ve not had it before), while there’s also a new Tidal trial for the same length. Here’s more.

5. Amazon: £10 off £25 spend

Some Amazon customers will be able to get this offer on Amazon goods, or an alternative one offering £10 credit if you make a Mastercard your default payment.

Of course, this is only a deal if there’s already something you plan to buy from Amazon! Here’s more.

6. Black Widow: The best cinema ticket deals

After a delay that’s been as long as the pandemic, Marvel’s Black Widow is finally in cinemas.

You can currently save money on tickets every day of the week, depending on the cinema, and you can find a chain-by-chain guide to special offers and discounts here.
