Free days out hack with MoneySuperMarket’s SuperSaveClub

Go to London Zoo, Go Ape and more each month

This money saving app from MoneySuperMarket could save you hundreds of pounds a year on days out – and we’ve a hack that means you don’t have to spend anything to get access. Here’s everything you need to know.

Some articles on the site contain affiliate links, which provide a small commission to help fund our work. However, they won’t affect the price you pay or our editorial independence. Read more here.

What is the SuperSaveClub?

SuperSaveClub is a rewards club exclusively for comparison site MoneySuperMarket customers.

The big selling point is the MoneySuperMarket Free Days Out annual pass, which gives free entry to lots of attractions either once a week or once a month. This includes big names like London Zoo and Drayton Manor.

As well as that, members can earn cashback on their shopping, earn rewards when they buy products through MoneySuperMarket and have access to offers and discounts.

I’ve looked in detail further down this article at how they work and whether they’re worth it.

How do I join SuperSaveClub?

You can join when you use MoneySuperMarket to buy insurance, broadband, mobile phone contracts, pet insurance and more. As a reward for going through MoneySuperMarket, they give you access to the SuperSaveClub app. You’ll have to wait 14 days before it activates.

Though it sounds like a freebie, it’s only the case if you are planning to get one of these things via MoneySuperMarket anyway – and that might not be the best option. You could save more going via a cashback site, for instance, while some insurers only sell direct from their own websites.

How to get free membership

But here’s a little secret – you don’t actually have to make a purchase through MoneySuperMarket. There is a hack which will get you SuperSaveClub access without spending a single penny.

Joining up to their Credit Monitor qualifies and this is free to do. This is a service which basically just shows you your credit score and signing up or using it won’t affect your credit rating. Once you’ve joined Credit Monitor, you get free access to the SuperSaveClub app and you can start saving on days out.

It might take a few hours for the reward to be triggered, so plan ahead. Once you have joined, your Free Days Out pass is valid for one year.

Although you can only join once, it’s per person, not per household, so if you have other adults in your home they can also sign up to get their own pass – which means more free tickets for days out.

Free days out

Unlike many of the deals available elsewhere that offer free kids tickets, the SuperSaveClub ones mainly include adult entry. That means it’s not just for people with families (though many of the attractions are just for kids).

However, you will only get one ticket per membership per location, so you’ll need to buy extra tickets if you need them for other family members or friends, which means there may be other offers out there that work out better.

With over 2,000 venues spanning the length and breadth of the UK, you should be able to find somewhere to visit in your area for free.

There are standard attractions for which you can claim an unlimited amount of times, but you can’t claim the same attraction within seven days.

Attractions that are labelled as MoneySuperMarket Hot Picks can only be claimed once a month, so you’re only able to claim up to twelve of these in a year.

Multiple ticket hack

We’ve not had time to try this out yet, but you have 14 days to use your vouchers, so in theory and with a bit of forward planning, you could get up to two regular vouchers to use in one visit.

First you claim one voucher, wait seven days, then claim another. Then visit the venue (but this must be done under separate bookings).

Where can I go?

As mentioned, there are a lot of attractions listed. Here are our top picks for a free day out with the SuperSaveClub app.

Hot Picks

These are the big names with more expensive ticket prices, so potentially bigger savings. You can claim once every 30 days.

  • ZSL London Zoo – worth up to £33
  • ZSL Whipsnade Zoo – worth up to £30
  • Gullivers Theme Parks – worth up to £30
  • Wookey Hole Caves – worth up to £24
  • Drayton Manor – worth up to £36
  • Chester Zoo – worth up to £33
  • Go Ape Treetop Adventure – worth up to £24

Regular attractions

These tend to be less well known names, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be good fun. Unlimited claims (same venue can be claimed once every seven days).

  • Brit Movie Tour – worth up to £17
  • Paradise Island indoor mini golf – worth up to £10.50
  • Derwent Pencil Museum – worth up to £6.50
  • Inigo Jones Great Slate Tour – worth up to £7
  • Various Escape Rooms

Many of the regular attractions offer free child tickets or group discounts, but you can get some good offers, you just have to find them in the thousands of attractions they have on the app!

Other features

Cashback on spending

Shopping online via the SuperSaveClub app, could get you up to 8% cashback. Sounds good? But is it worth swapping your usual cashback provider to this new offering from Money SuperMarket?

The table below shows you just how they compare. And just so you know, there are only 36 shopping outlets available on the SuperSaveClub app at the time of writing, so to offer any kind of competition to Quidco and TopCashback, they will need to increase their selection of brands.

SuperSaveClubQuidcoTopCashback

Hotels.com7%8%Up to 11%
Boots3%4.4%2.55%
M&S1%1%0.85%
eBay1.5%1.1%1%
H&M1%1.1%0.85%

As you can see, SuperSaveClub are offering similar cashback rates to the competition, but with only limited outlets available to shop at, I don’t think it’s worth going through the app if you’re already a user of Quidco or TopCashback, or even Complete Savings

If you want to grab a bonus for signing up to TopCashback or Quidco, we have the best offers available in our deals page.

MoneySuperMarket product rewards

If you go through the app to buy insurance, broadband, mobile phones and more you can earn cash rewards. The following shows the rates correct as of July 2024.

Car insurance£15
Home insurance£15
Broadband£15
Annual travel insurance£5
Pet insurance£10
Mobile phones£5
Van insurance£15
Loans£15
Credit cards£10

Any money earned will go into your SuperSaveClub wallet along with any money earned from cashback and you’ll be able to exchange it for a number of gift cards or a prepaid Mastercard option.

It’s worth checking you can’t beat these rates from cashback sites and other comparison sites, or both combined.

Offers and discounts

Members also get access to other savings – though currently there’s just two offers available – up to 17% at APH car parks, hotels and airport lounges and you can also pick up a free grüum suncare bundle.

These aren’t much to shout about but if you sign up it’s worth keeping an eye on here in case anything decent appears.

Referral credit

In addition, if you refer a friend and they buy a qualifying product including car or van insurance, home insurance, pet insurance, loans or credit cards you both get up to £20 depending on the product purchased.

Is SuperSaveClub worth it?

If you’ve got kids, or fancy a trip to London Zoo for yourself, then it’s well worth grabbing free membership via Credit Monitor. Don’t forget to sign up for each adult in your household to access multiple tickets to the same attractions.

However, the cashback and the offers section aren’t ready as they need more options. If that happens then they could be worth a look – but only if they beat other options.

  1. The credit monitor hack only seems to be for new sign ups. Turned out I was already signed up (I think TopCashback gave cashback at one time), although I’d quite forgotten about it. No SuperSave Club for me.

  2. So, after a full year. Any way to renew or extend the membership?

  3. My partner and have signed up by joining their Credit Monitor and it took 24 hours before the supersaver club was enabled.

It looks good on the surface as there appear to be quite a few things (days out) we can do in our area. I first tried the English Heritage and noted that the list was incorrect as it has Swindon against many of the attractions, e.g. Swindon Bedfordshire, Swindon Greater London, Swindon Somerset etc. As far as I know there is only one Swindon and that’s in Wiltshire. I have emailed them about this 2 weeks ago, although they have acknowledged it, as yet nothing has changed.

We have tried to get an English Heritage day out, but the process is convoluted. You have to claim the day out via the app and then email MSM with your preferred date & time for them to book it on your behalf. This is where it falls down, as they take at least 3 working days to reply. I sent them my booking request on Sunday and they have only just replied today asking if its okay to pass my details to English Heritage. I get there may be data protection issues here, but why set up this system and then ask this question, whey else would we have send in a booking request if we didn’t want them to pass our details onto English Heritage?

My partner hasn’t heard anything yet and as we want to visit an English Heritage site on the coming Tuesday (her birthday) I am not confident that we will be able to. Given this process and time it takes for MSM to reply, then perhaps it would be prudent to book at least 2 weeks ahead to avoid disappointment.

I will provide an update when this is resolved, plus I will also try one of the other days out services and report on that.

    1. This is a follow up to my original comment – So my partner’s birthday has passed and we had to make alternative plans as we did not receive our booking. Its now a week later and we haven’t even had a “sorry, but we failed to book this for you” reply, just nothing but frustrated customers!

As English Heritage is a “HotPick”, these can only be used once a month. So we missed out on this visit and are locked out of booking another visit for another 2 weeks.

I have raised a compliant with MSM about this and pointing out that although this service is provided by a 3rd party on behalf of MoneySuperMarket, but it’s their name that will be tarnished with this as its you who are offering it.

      1. Thanks for sharing this update with us Steve. What a nightmare

  4. Signed up for credit monitor. Still have to pay for supersaver club

    1. Give it a few hours and it should update

  5. Just tried to get a free membership by signing up to credit rating but still says I need a qualifying purchase
