Unreal Money: What’s in the Oscar gift bag?

It’s the biggest day of the movie calendar this Sunday, when Boyhood, Birdman and The Grand Budapest Hotel battle it out for Best Picture at the 2015 Academy Awards – or the Oscars as everyone calls them.

Obviously the nominees all want to win, but even those that don’t walk away with a golden statue will still do pretty well. The Oscars is notorious for the ridiculous freebie gift bag given to the rich and famous, and this year it’s even bigger. So I’ve taken the time to break it down for you in this little infographic. The boxes are all proportional, so you can see the main types of products heading their way.

Oscar Gift Bag

There are some odd things in there. From a $25 board game and the $250 sex toy, all the way to a $20,000 personal horoscope and unlimited Audi rentals for a year, also worth $20,000.

It’s pretty shocking that the famous always get the freebies (as I ranted about back in July), but it is possible for normal folks like you and I to do quite well. Ok, nothing like this, but the odd free can of coke, cinema ticket and greetings card can all add up, freeing up more money to spend elsewhere. You can even watch the ceremony tonight for free with this deal!

Keep an eye on my vouchers and deals section so you can take advantage when I spot a great freebie.

p.s. My choice would be Grand Budapest Hotel…
