Cashback sites have traditionally been aimed at online purchases (read our guide to the leading sites). Shopitize is an app that gives you cashback when you are physically in the supermarket. If you’re completely new to cashback, read our 12 Cashbacks Basics article.
Select the store you are in and it’ll show you the current offers. On my trip to Sainsbury’s it was offering £1.50 off some New Covent Garden Minestrone soup.
It’s a simple little tool. You choose from a dropdown which supermarket you are going to and it offers up a dozen or so offers.
If you want to buy any of the products they have on offer, you can scan the barcode to check it’s the right one.
Then when you get home, scan the receipt and submit it. It’ll take a few minutes to validate it (or ask you to take the pic again as it did with me), then you’ll have some cash plonked into your account.
BUT there is a £5 minimum for withdrawls, so I’d recommend only using the app for products you are happy to pay the amount for anyway – just in case. Also make sure you check the dates the offer is valid for.
It’s free on iOS and Android
