Tinder, Deliveroo and purchase protection insurance are included in this upgrade
Revolut Premium is one of a few paid upgrade options to its free account. Here’s what you get with it and whether we reckon it’s worth it.

What is Revolut Premium?
At the moment, Revolut’s a prepaid card and banking app, but it’s recently got its banking licence, so soon it’ll be functioning as a proper UK bank.
Revolut Premium is one of its paid upgrades. It gets you everything in the Revolut Free account and the Revolus Plus account as well as additional perks, including access to several subscriptions.
How much does Revolut Premium cost?
Revolut Premium costs £7.99 per month. There’s no minimum term. You can order a card for free and your first replacement is free. However, if you order a specific Premium card and cancel within 14 days, you may have to pay the delivery fee for the card.
What do you get with Revolut Premium?
Revolut Premium gets you all of the things you get in the Plus account and access to a range of subscriptions, such as Tinder, Headspace and Deliveroo. You also get some increased allowances, such as for cash withdrawals and currency exchange. If you’ve got kids, you can get more children’s accounts.
In terms of insurance, you get the insurance on your purchases, which we’ve covered in our Revolut Plus review, but there’s no travel or mobile phone insurance.

Subscriptions
You get access to several premium subscriptions with Revolut Premium. Some of these are pretty nice perks, but only if you would otherwise use them or don’t already get them elsewhere. For example, Amazon Prime customers get access to Deliveroo Plus Silver included and those with Vitality get Headspace included.
If you were to pay for all of these subscriptions individually, you’d spend about £40 per month.
- NordVPN Standard – usually £2.39/month for new customers
- Deliveroo Plus Silver – usually £3.49 per month
- Headspace subscription – usually from £4.17 per month
- Sleep Cycle Premium – usually about £30 a year
- Freeletics Coach – usually £1.83 per week
- Tinder Plus – usually from £13.99 per month
- Picsart Pro – usually £7 per month
Money exchanges
You can exchange unlimited amounts of money in more than 29 currencies Monday to Friday without any additional exchange fees.
You’d usually have a £1,000 monthly limit, after which you’d have to pay 1%. There’s a £3,000 monthly limit with the Plus account.
International transfers
You get a 20% discount on international transfer fees. These fees depend on the currency you’re sending and the live rates.
Commodity exchange fees
When exchanging commodities, you get a reduced exchange fee of 1.49% (there’s a minimum fee of £1). This is usually 1.99% (minimum of £1).
Free stock trading
You also get five commission-free stock trades each month. You get one each month with the free account and three each month with the Plus account. Stock trading usually costs 0.25% of the amount of your order, with a minimum charge of £1.
Exclusive savings rates
With Revolut you’ll also get an exclusive savings rate of 3% AER variable. This can be beaten with other savings accounts, so it’s certainly not worth signing up for.
The free account only pays 2.29% AER on savings.
Earn more RevPoints
RevPoints is Revolut’s reward scheme. As a Premium customer, you earn more points for your spending. So you usually earn 1 point for every £10 spent and with Premium, you get 1 point per £4 spent and a bonus of 2,500 points (worth about £20) when you spend £2,000 in your first three months as a Premium customer.
Travel benefits
The only travel benefit you get with this account is discounted lounge access. There isn’t travel insurance included.
Lounge access
You get discounted lounge access when travelling. In my experience this benefit hasn’t been brilliant – lounges still cost £20 or so per person.
This can be worthwhile when you factor in the included food and drink, but only if you expect to spend a fair amount of time at the airport ahead of the flight and would have bought food and drinks anyway. There are more than 1,400 lounges where you can get discounted passes.
Personalised card
You get a different card which can be personalised. This is a bit of a gimmick, especially as most people just use Apple or Google Pay anyway.
ATM withdrawals
You can withdraw more per month with the Premium account versus the free one and Plus account which only lets you withdraw £200 per month (there’s a maximum of 5 withdrawals with the free account).
This “perk” isn’t really anything to shout about – all high street banks let you withdraw significantly more than this each month without any fees.

Is Revolut Premium worth it?
Zoe’s analysis
If you already spend more on the subscriptions included in this account, you could potentially save money with Revolut Premium.
But unless you want access to at least a few of the included subscriptions or tend to transfer money abroad or use the currency exchange features then Revolut Premium isn’t really worth it.
You get a slightly better savings rate, which can be beaten elsewhere; a £400 cash withdrawal limit, while most other accounts don’t restrict you; better earnings on RevPoints, which can also be beaten with other cards.
You get a few extra trades each month on Revolut’s investing side and reduced fees when exchanging currency and transferring money abroad.
