Cheap Night In – 3/3/14

Matthew McConaughey Mud If you’re staying in, here are some cheap ways to keep entertained.

FILM

He won big at last night’s Oscars for Best Actor, so here’s your chance to enjoy two other good Matthew McConaughey performances that bookend the romantic comedy dross in between.

More4 is showing his breakthrough role in John Grisham’s race/legal drama A Time To Kill at 9pm.

Alternatively Blinkbox are offering last year’s Mud for just 99p today, though you have 30 days to start watching the rental. Other recent titles available in the offer include The World’s End (Simon Pegg & Nick Frost in Edgar Wright’s follow up to Hot Fuzz) and indie flick Frances Ha.

TV

Mary Berry Cooks
BBC Two, 8.30pm

Panorama: Hungry Britain
BBC One, 8.30pm

Mind The Gap: London vs The Rest
BBC Two, 9pm

Both these documentaries explore Britain’s current economic standings. The first looks at the rising number of food banks, while the second sees Evan Davis examine why London seems to be doing so much better than elsewhere in the UK.
