I want to share some personal news from me, and let you know what that’ll mean for Be Clever With Your Cash.
So, excitingly, from 2026 I’ll be cutting back my days working for Be Clever With Your Cash and going part time. After 12 full-on years running this business, I’m very much looking forward to having a bit more free time!
Obviously if I’m not here five days a week, it’ll be difficult to do all the things I currently do as Editor-in-chief and Managing Director. Though you’ll only see the articles and videos I create, there’s a huge amount of work behind the scenes day-to-day. As much as I’d love to keep doing this, it wouldn’t be sustainable to keep our output at the quality it requires, and that wouldn’t be fair to all of you.
Well, I’m delighted to share that we’ve appointed James Andrews as the new Managing Editor for Be Clever With Your Cash, and he’ll be in charge from Christmas onwards. He’s the former editor for Times Money Mentor and Mirror Money, so he knows his stuff!
He’ll now be making the decisions about what you get to read about, as well as looking after the operational side of things too. Supporting him will be our senior writer Zoe Roddy, and later this year our Deputy Editor Amelia Murray will return from maternity leave.
But I’m not going away completely! I’ll be moving over into an Editor-at-large role. It’s basically a nice way I can continue to create content and help you without any of the business and management work!
My focus is largely going to be on our YouTube channel, where I’ll be creating videos once or twice a week. I’ll try and get a few live Q&As in too!
You’ll also still see regular articles from me on both Be Clever With Your Cash and in my regular column for Metro.
Plus, we’ll be carrying on with Cash Chats as it is, though it’s going to move to Thursday morning releases (available on all good podcasting apps) for now. It’ll likely change again from Easter time, so we’d love to get your thoughts on what you’d like to see and hear from the podcast going forward. You can email us at [email protected].
I imagine there will be some other changes across our output, but importantly, James and the team are committed to ensuring everything on our channels continues to meets our editorial code.
So though it’s not good bye, I do want to thank you all for your continued readership over the years.
It still amazes me that I’ve been able to reach and help so many of you with your finances. There have been 16.5 million people visiting the site, totalling 28 million pages read. Over on YouTube, our videos have been viewed 14.5 million times. The podcast listened to 1.3 million times.
From the best bank switching offers and savings rates through to the latest wine deals and streaming hacks, I really hope you’re all better off as a result of all our work so far.
So yes, some change, but I know this great content is going to continue, as will our mission to help you make the most of your money.
See you in 2026!
Andy
