Waitrose pick your own discounts – how it works

Shoppers at upmarket supermarket Waitrose can now select 20% off their 10 favourite items.

I love Waitrose. I know it can be more expensive than other grocery stores, but as I’ve written before, there are plenty of reasons it’s worth shopping there. And now I’ve a new excuse.

The MyWaitrose card already gives you free tea or coffee when shopping, and a free daily newspaper. Now anyone with the card can select 20% off their ten favourite products – and keep getting the discount each time you shop.

You’ll even get the 20% off on top of any discount when the product you choose is in another offer or promotion.

Do this before 7th July and you’ll also get a voucher for £6 off a £60 spend.

How it works

You’ll need a MyWaitrose card, which you can pick up from any store.

Once you’ve registered it, head to the Waitrose homepage and sign in. Make sure your card is linked to the account.

Here you’ll be able to choose the items you want a discount on.

Once you’ve selected the products, they’re locked in for the summer. Waitrose haven’t said when you’ll be able to change your items, but you will be able to.

This works online and in-store, you just need to have registered your MyWaitrose card and selected what you want to receive the discount on.

A small downside seems to be you can’t select anything Waitrose stock. The supermarket has listed around 1,000 items you can chose from. That’s still plenty of choice.
