Free chargers and £1 movies – new deals for EE customers

How to get the EE Power Bar and EE Movie Club offers

When EE Wednesday ended, they said they’d announce new benefits for their customers.   Well, from Thursday this week you can get a free portable phone charger and £1 movie rentals.

How to get an EE Power Bar phone charger

** UPDATE 21/4/15 – EE have run out of codes! The next batch will be released on June 24th. If you’ve already got a code you can still pick up your Powerbar **

The Power Bar is a small portable battery which you plug your USB charger cable into to give your phone a boost.

EE say it has enough power to charge a phone once, and the battery itself has 500 charges. You can either plug it into a USB port or plug to charge, or just hand it over in an EE shop for a full one.

I think it’s a no brainer deal if you’re on EE as these normally cost around £20. I bought a similar one from Amazon a few years ago and it’s perfect for long trips, festivals and holidays.

If your mobile or landline are on an EE 30 day, 12, 18 or 24 month plan, you’re entitled to claim the charger. Orange and TMobile customers can do the same. Pay As You Go customers  must have been with then for at least three months.

To get it, mobile customers need to text POWER to 365. Broadband customers should text JOIN plus their EE landline number to 60005 and follow the instructions provided. Texts cost 35p. You’ll then be sent a code to redeem at an EE shop.

How to get ‘£1’ movies at the EE Film Club

Since Blockbuster closed and Blinkbox ended their £1 Movie Mondays, cheap deals to watch new rental releases have been rare. So this is a great offer.

The actual cost is £1.35 as you have to pay for the text, but that’s still a great saving if you want to watch something.

Text ”film” to 141 to get the promo code (texts cost 35p) which you can then redeem at Wuaki.tv. The rental is valid for 48hrs from the moment the voucher is redeemed. You can have one code each week.

Wuaki has a decent list of movies and plenty of new releases. Some TVs will have a built in app, or you can buy a Chromecast and stream from your phone/computer.
