The tenner with Charles Darwin stops being legal tender on 1st March 2018 – meaning you can’t use it in shops after this date. So what do you do if you’re given one?
I was given an old tenner at a cash machine the other day – which is fine for now as you can still use them. But it soon won’t be, as these notes will go out of circulation in just a few weeks.
However if you find one after the expiry date you won’t be losing money. It’s actually really easy to switch your old notes for a new one, and you can even get your money back for any old round £1 coins you find too.
