Two reasons you need to switch bank now

Get £200 from TSB or Nationwide if you move your current account.

I stayed with Barclays for 15 years. It was the longest relationship I ever had. But it was boring and loveless. So when Halifax flirted with me, fluttering a £100 switching bonus and £5 a month interest, I jumped ship. And I’m much happier.

If you’re in a rut with you bank, now is a great time for you to ditch them and make some handy cash.

Switching is easy and hassle free. You need to apply for the new account and if successful the new bank will move over your money and direct debits within seven working day. Any payments in and out over the next 18 months will be monitored and transferred too, so you won’t be out of pocket.

There are quite a few ways to make your bank pay you, but there are two great deals available for the next few weeks which will net you £200 in the first year. So if you’ve been holding off making the move, now is a great time to do it!

£100 switching bonus and £100 in interest with TSB

TSB offer the best deal. They offer 5% interest on balances of up to £2,000 with their Classic Plus account. That’s worth £100 after 12 months.

I like them because you don’t need to have any direct debits set up to get the interest, though you do need to pay in £500 a month.

Even better, if you go through MoneySuperMarket, you can get a £100 bonus for switching from your current account. This extra offer ends on 28th June 2015.

£75 cashback and £125 in interest / free travel insurance with Nationwide

If you sign up for a Nationwide FlexDirect current account via cashback site Quidco you’ll get a bonus £75.

If that doesn’t sound as good as the TSB deal, you haven’t taken into account the bonuses the accounts give. You also don’t have to switch your account if you’d rather stay with your current bank.

You can get 5% on a balance of £2,500 (worth £125 after a year) if you apply for the FlexDirect account. This rate is only available for the first year, so you might want to switch after that.

Or you can access free European travel insurance for a year with the FlexPlus account.

If you’ve not signed up for Quidco before, join via this link to get an extra £2.50 once you’ve earned £5!

The cashback ends on 21st June 2015.

>> Sign up for Quidco (and receive £2.50 when you hit £5 cashback)
