When I’m planning a holiday, Skyscanner.net is the first site I go to. Yes you can compare the price of flights on most travel sites, but in my opinion Skyscanner soars above them.
First it’s really easy to understand. On the home page you chose your departure and destination airports. You can then select the date, number of passengers and off you go.
I really like the whole month view (see pics), which makes it really easy to see where you can make savings if you’re flexible with dates.
There are also handy tools on the left hand side to refine your search – so departure and landing times, number of stops, even particular airlines.
Once you’ve found a date that works for you, you can choose the combination of outbound and return flights and click through to purchase. Skyscanner monitors a number of different sellers so you can often save a bit more by choosing who to buy from. You won’t be charged a fee by Skyscanner.
There’s also a free app that does the same thing and worth having on your smartphone.
Be careful though as some airlines might add charges for baggage, paying with credit card and other services, so do check your total before paying.
