Reward credit cards: Which are best – cashback vs points vs miles?

You can earn free money and points while you shop with a rewards credit card.

I use a reward credit card every time I spend. There’s a range you can choose from.

Cashback where you get money back to your account and reward points which go towards something like Avios airmiles, hotel schemes or vouchers for shopping. But which is best?

Well in part it depends on how much you spend, where you spend it and how much flexibility you want.

Find out more in my guide to the best type of reward credit card.

For subtitles, press play and then hit the CC button at the bottom of the video (you might need to tap the video or hover your mouse over it) and you’ll be able to get auto-generated subtitles.

For a transcript, you’ll need to click through to YouTube. Then hit the three dots under the video to access all the subtitles at once. Remember they have been auto-generated by YouTube so there might be the odd word where it thinks I’ve said something else.

If you find this useful, please click to watch this video over on YouTube and then click the “thumbs up” icon as it helps the video appear higher up in YouTube’s search results.

  1. I am very interested in this, but it is 13 mins long – I could read this is a couple of minutes. Same for everything actually, I never want to spend the time watching the videos.
Can I read somewhere what you said?

    1. Hi Lynne,

Sadly I don’t have the time to do both every week alongside the other articles I write, but if you go into the YouTube video you can read a transcript of the article. There could be a few errors (it’s done by a computer so it might get the odd word wrong) but it should help you scan through what I say.
